Today in History: Kairi Sane wins the inaugural Mae Young Classic

On this day in history:

September 12th, 2017 | WWE’s inaugural Mae Young Classic started off with 32 competitors representing 13 different countries. After eight episodes of action, the final two competitors came down to Kairi Sane and Shayna Baszler. Although Baszler’s size and strength gave her the early advantage, Sane fought through striking her way out of the vicious submission holds. A turning point for Sane came when she knocked Baszler off a turnbuckle, connected the sliding elbow and climbed the top rope one final time to drop the Insane Elbow to be crowned the winner of the inaugural Mae Young Classic.
